D Shackle or Bow Shackle?

Choose a D shackle when the load pulls in a straight line. If you need to attach several fittings to one shackle, or the load may pull from different angles, a bow shackle with its wider, rounded loop is usually the better option.

How to Choose the Right Size

Start with the weight of the load and select a shackle rated above it. Check that the shackle opening and pin fit the chain, rope, strap or fixing point you are connecting, and avoid side loading, which reduces the load a D shackle can safely take.
