PVC Tarpaulins buying guide
PVC tarpaulins are the long-life option. A PVC tarpaulin is thicker and more flexible than woven polyethylene, and it resists abrasion. That makes it the right choice for covers that are used every day or left out for years. We stock two kinds: heavy PVC-coated polyester in solid colours, and glass-clear PVC you can see through.
Heavy duty PVC-coated polyester
These sheets have a woven polyester base with a PVC coating. They are waterproof and built for haulage, farms and industry.
- 560gsm PVC tarpaulin in green or blue, with 20mm brass eyelets every 50cm, from 1.3m x 1.9m to 10m x 14m
- 570gsm PVC tarpaulin in forest green or blue, with steel eyelets, from 4m x 3m to 10m x 12m
- 610gsm green PVC tarpaulin, our heaviest sheet, from 3.5m x 2.75m to 10m x 6m
- 610gsm PVC tarpaulin with shock cord, with 8mm shock cord through every eyelet
Clear PVC tarpaulins
Glass-clear PVC keeps the weather out and lets full daylight in.
- 310gsm clear PVC tarpaulin with 12mm aluminium eyelets and reinforced white hems, from 1.22m x 2m to 4m x 5m
- 320gsm clear PVC tarpaulin with brass eyelets, in single sheets and multi-packs
- Clear PVC ground sheet in 17 sizes, from 1.5m x 2m to 8m x 8m
- 310gsm glass clear PVC roll, 1.1m x 25m, to cut to length
- 0.6mm clear PVC outdoor curtain with eyelets and hooks for pergolas and patios

PVC or polyethylene: which do you need?
Polyethylene is lighter and costs less, so it suits seasonal and occasional cover. PVC earns its price on trailers, lorries, boats and permanent outdoor covers. If you are unsure, compare heavy duty tarpaulins in polyethylene with the PVC sheets above.
Looking after a PVC tarpaulin
Let the sheet dry before you fold it, and store it out of direct sun. Repair small cuts early with tarpaulin tape. Use the size guide to measure before you buy.
