Agricultural Tarpaulins buying guide
Agricultural tarpaulins have to cope with open fields, wind and months outside. Our farm tarpaulins range from 170gsm Leno sheets to 610gsm PVC, with breathable cotton canvas for anything that must not sweat. Many come in large sizes to cover a full stack or trailer.
Which farm tarpaulin for which job?
Hay and straw stacks
You need a large, waterproof sheet. The 200gsm heavy duty tarpaulin goes up to 35m x 20m, the 250gsm green and brown tarpaulin up to 22m x 25m, and the 170gsm Monoflex Leno tarpaulin up to 16m x 32m.
Machinery and implements
The 270gsm black and silver tarpaulin and the 350gsm blue and beige tarpaulin resist punctures from sharp edges. For metal stored over winter, consider canvas, because it lets air move.
Trailers and loads
PVC stands up to rubbing on the road. Choose the 560gsm PVC tarpaulin, or the 610gsm PVC tarpaulin with shock cord for a cover you can stretch over a load in one go.
Breathable canvas
The 18oz cotton canvas tarpaulin, the 21oz cotton canvas tarpaulin and the 14oz green cotton canvas tarpaulin are water-resistant, not fully waterproof. They let air through, which cuts condensation and rust.
Fixing a sheet in an exposed field
Run polypropylene or lorry rope over the stack as well as through the eyelets, and weigh down the edges. Shock cord keeps tension on a sheet as the wind changes. Use the size guide to measure a stack or trailer.
