Heavy Duty Tarpaulins buying guide

Quick answers

What gsm tarpaulin do I need for heavy duty use?

140–185gsm suits garden storage and seasonal covers. 200–250gsm is the all-rounder for building sites, roofing and covers left out for months. Choose 270gsm for boats, machinery and ground sheets, and 610gsm PVC for lorries and permanent outdoor use.

Are heavy duty tarpaulins waterproof?

Yes. Every sheet in this range is fully waterproof, with reinforced eyelets and edges. Leaks usually come from a loose fit, so tie the tarp tight and angle it so rain runs off.

What size tarpaulin should I order?

Measure the area you want to cover, add around 30cm to each side for overhang and fixing, then choose the nearest size up. Finished sizes can run slightly under the stated size.

How do I make a heavy duty tarp last longer outdoors?

Pick a heavier gsm for long-term use, keep the sheet tight so it does not flap in the wind, and fix it at every eyelet. Flapping wears the edges and eyelets faster than rain or sun.

How fast is delivery?

Orders are processed within 1 business day (Monday to Friday) and delivered with tracking in 1 to 2 business days. Delivery is free on all UK orders.

Can I return a tarpaulin if it is the wrong size?

Yes. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days. Contact us to arrange the return. Return shipping is paid by the customer.
